About

We started with the week no one was watching.

Tend was founded by a discharge nurse and a voice-AI engineer who kept running into the same gap: the days right after the hospital, when recovery is most fragile and least seen.

Why Tend

A call is small. Being alone is not.

One of us spent eleven years as a discharge-planning nurse, often making the follow-up calls herself. She saw how much slipped through in the first week home, and how often a two-minute call would have caught it. She also saw that there were never enough hours to make every call.

The other spent a decade building voice systems that people forget are software. He wanted to point that work at something that mattered more than a booking or a balance.

Tend is the thing they kept wishing existed: a warm, patient call after discharge that checks in, answers the questions the folder was supposed to, and brings any concern to the care team early. It does not practice medicine. It makes sure no one recovers alone.

What we hold to

Four things we do not compromise.

Listen first

The whole value of a call is that someone talks to it. We earn that with warmth and patience, not scripts.

Stay in our lane

We check and we escalate. We do not diagnose. Knowing what we are not is how we keep patients safe.

People in the loop

A care team is always part of the story. Tend hands the important moments to a person.

Tend, then grow

We would rather do one thing with real care than ten things loudly. Recovery is patient work.

Build the week-after with us.

Whether you run a unit or want to join the team, we would love to talk.
